Buying Time

Two hikers, walking in the hills of Sparks, Nevada, USA stumbled across a light blue Cadillac one Saturday morning in July 1993. They were shocked to find the body of a twenty one year old man who would later be named Ricky Dyer Jr. Ricky had been shot in the face with a shotgun, which was in the car with him.

The police believed that Ricky had committed suicide but there are a number of clues, in the form of evidence found at the scene and also words used by individuals known to Ricky that suggest the possibility he was the victim of a murder that was carried out in such a way that it appeared he had ended his own life.

Blood was found on the outside of the vehicle yet it was claimed he shot himself inside the car. A man who had motive to kill Ricky seemed to know information that only someone at the scene at the time of Ricky's death could have known. Furthermore a substantial sum of money that had belonged to Ricky was found to be missing following his death. Ricky had gained the money the day he died.

It's been nearly 18 years and we want to know... why did Ricky die?
